Beginners’ introductory session @ 6:30 PM, dance 7–10 PM
Situated on the shore of Lake Keowee, our dance hall has hardwood floors and open windows to let in the cool breeze. Come dance to live music while enjoying the views and helping out the Oconee History Museum! South Cove County Park in Seneca, SC has 86 campsites, 40 of which are waterfront. Contra, folk and square dancing will be called with live fiddle band The Piedmont Mule Chasers & special guest! Water will be available. Hot dog plates and snacks for sale. The dance is held in the recreation center. Come alone or bring a partner! All steps of the dances are taught in a walk-through before the dances are called. Clean, soft-soled, comfortable shoes are recommended. If you've never been to a contra dance before, coming early for the beginners introductory session is highly recommended!
$8 per person to benefit the Oconee Heritage Center. Kids 12 & under are free! Free Park Admission!
Seneca is a 2.5 hour drive from Charlotte, NC, 2 hours from Atlanta or Asheville, NC, 1.5 hours from Athens, GA & 45 minutes from Greenville, SC in beautiful Oconee County, SC.
